Good and Bad…
Good news is that I don’t think I’m pregnant anymore. Those symptoms have passed so it was probably just an extended case of PMS.
A1 had his tonsils out in July. He was constantly getting sick with them, so I decided they had to come out. I must do a separate post about it, I took many many photos that day.
Since they’ve been out, he’s been much better. But now A2 seems to be getting sick with tonsillitis more often
Why Universe? WHY?!? As if the lung-related illnesses isn’t enough to deal with.
Then, we went for A1′s post-op check up last week. Doc was pretty happy with his progress. We got to discussing A2′s grommets (he did them last year when A2 was so sick). I was fully under the impression that they were still in place, as there was serious drainage not too long ago. From his left ear, which so happens to be his problem-ear.
The ENT checked but reckons the grommets must have fallen out a while ago. They weren’t supposed to last longer than 9-12 months anyway. It’s been about 18 months since he got them. Apparently A2 has a lot of wax in his ear though, so he couldn’t be too sure. Our GPs have also said they couldn’t see the grommets, even though I insisted it.must.still.be.there!
We got a script for some ear drops and an appointment for Monday. The doctor wants to do a proper inspection, because if the grommets did fall out then his ear has been draining through a hole that shouldn’t be there…
I don’t know how bad this is and what the level of my panic should be? A2 doesn’t seem to be in pain or have any issues with his ear. He listens when you talk, responds appropriately, already speaks 5-word sentences, knows very many words and isn’t off-balance much for an almost 2 year old.
So now we wait for Monday…

Don’t stress too much gilr – most things ear related can be fixed and if he hears well, it should be fine
