A2 is almost 21 months. He has a vast vocabulary in my opinion. He’s picking up new words every single day. Mostly, you can understand him straight off the bat (or maybe I can because I’m there when he learns the new word, so I know how it sounds when he says it?) but sometimes a translation is required.
You’ll need this to fully understand:
Imam = airplane
Vieg = vliegtuig (airplane)
Tap = bad (bath)
Tae = tee (tea)
Yaya = Nala
Titoh = Titan
Lepoh = lepel (spoon)
Most words ending in -el he substitutes with -oh, so you need to listen out for that.
He likes his fietsie (bicycle) or to skyf (draw/write), plays with his vak (pig) or Woefie (doggy). He also eats with his vak (fork), so you have to take the word in context.
Typical boy, he loves poep (fart) jokes. He has even started blaming his farts on his brother/father, or when they make really impressive ones, he claims it as his own.
When you tell him I love you he responds with Too!
And when he doesn’t know the word he needs, it’s koffie (coffee). Regardless.
xoxo
